Personal or Guild Board Notification

I absolutely love the * asterisk notification on my account that lets me know an alt has mail. More than a few times, it's sort of reminded me that I have other characters I should give more attention to.

I was wondering if it would be possible to extend that functionality and alert players of alts who have notes addressed to them, either by name or perhaps to their guilds? I think most people tend to cycle their characters pretty regularly but if you happen to be on an alt, it could be really nice and helpful to be made aware that something may need attention elsewhere.

I'd like this, if it used a different option than the red asterisk so we could tell the difference.
